****************************************************************************** BSW Electronic Mail 09-Jul-2009 14:40:02 CET Message Number 0284 ****************************************************************************** Author: BSWteam Subject: New release 02-Jul-2009 available for Bernese Version 5.0 Dear BSW Users, A new release 02-Jul-2009 for Bernese version 5.0 is available. A list with possible modifications to this release can be found at http://www.bernese.unibe.ch/Bugs02-JUL-2009.html . We've found that a correction in release 10-May-2009 leads to a problem. Especially by using the ADDNEQ program (see bugfix B_161 at http://www.bernese.unibe.ch/Bugs15-MAY-2009.html). Therefore we recommend to all users who already works with release 15-May-2009 to upgrade their software to the current release 02-Jul-2009. The most important changes are: - All bug fixes and improvements implemented up to B_163 (June 23, 2009). To download the update to the recent release we recommend to use the update utility (http://www.bernese.unibe.ch/support.html#Updater). On UNIX platforms: - download and install the source code using bsw50updater.pm - compile the menu using configure.pm tool items (3) - compile the processing programs using configure.pm tool items (4) - update the program input panels using Menu>Configure>Updating input files. On Windows platforms with fortran compiler: - download and install the source code using bsw50updater.pm - download one of the archives with the executable and extract the menu.exe program into the directory %C%\MENU (%C% is the location of the installation of the software, e.g., C:\BERN50). - compile the processing programs using the command "perl COMPLINK" - update the program input panels using Menu>Configure>Updating input files. On Windows platforms without fortran compiler: - download and install the source code using bsw50updater.pm - download the correct archive of executables (SMALL MEDIUM LARGE memory model) and replace your current executables. - update the program input panels using Menu>Configure>Updating input files. In all cases we recommend to update the processing example campaign since some of the changes may have a small effect on the results reflected in the solution reference files (_REF in the example campaign). If you have any problems or questions regarding the procedure don't hesitate to contact us per email to bernese@aiub.unibe.ch Kind regards, BSWteam [Mailed from: Peter Walser ]
