****************************************************************************** BSW Electronic Mail 19-Mar-2008 16:40:03 CET Message Number 0264 ****************************************************************************** Author: BSWteam Subject: New ftp download server at AIUB Dear BSW users, hereby, we would like to inform you that the new FTP server is installed and the Bernese software is available again for the download service. Your old description sheet for the download is still valid apart from the new FTP address: 130.92.24.132 (aiuws.unibe.ch). Since it is a linux server now the remapping procedure to suppress the VAX file version number can be skipped of course. We have found that the old list of IP addresses for the permission to download the software contains many IPs, which are very likely not in use anymore. For that reason we have decided to start a new list on the new hardware. For that reason we ask all users to use the web form at: http://aiuws.unibe.ch/bernese/ipentry.htm to provide us with their current IP you want to use for downloads in the future. We apologize for any inconveniences this may caused. Additional remark: If you are going to install the software on a new computer it may be a good idea to download the source code (and executables) for the recent release from the FTP instead of installing the software from a CD-ROM with an old release and performing several update steps. Best regards, The BSW Team [Mailed from: Peter Walser ]
