From E.Danastasio at gns.cri.nz Tue Jan 15 12:51:16 2019 From: E.Danastasio at gns.cri.nz (Elisabetta D'Anastasio) Date: Tue, 15 Jan 2019 20:51:16 +0000 Subject: [IGSSTATION-7521] GeoNet New Zealand GNSS 30s rinex data distribution change Message-ID: Hello, At GeoNet (Geohazard monitoring department, GNS Science Te Pu Ao, New Zealand) we have been working on modernizing our GNSS raw and RINEX data reception and distribution system. As a result of that, there will be some changes in the way 30s RINEX data can be accessed that might impact your routines and data streams. RINEX data will still be accessible from the GeoNet FTP (ftp.geonet.org.nz) but there will be a change in the filename path. The changes details are summarized in the table below, and more details for each item are also reported. What | current | change ftp url | ftp.geonet.org.nz/gps | ftp.geonet.org.nz/gnss Compression | hatanaka , unix compress | gzip Daily rinex latency | 6 hours after end of UTC day | updated every UTC hour until the end of the UTC day IGS data repository | CDDIS, IGN | CDDIS The change will be implemented this week, and you might notice some delay in the provision of hourly 30 s RINEX files. We will continue providing hatanaka compressed files on the old ftp location for another 2-4 weeks, but we strongly recommend any automatic procedures be moved to the new location as soon as possible as the old location won?t be maintained beyond this transition period. In terms of upload to IGS data repositories, unfortunately we are no longer able to support FTP upload due to security reasons. We will be uploading daily rinex to the NASA-JPL CDDIS repository, the only one that allows HTTPS data upload to our knowledge. Please be aware that in the next few months we are going to work on a new way to access GeoNet RINEX data, and in the long term the data distribution via FTP will be decommissioned. If you are interested into knowing more about that and to be informed on further developments please reply to this email. Additional details will be also published on our website (https://www.geonet.org.nz/data/types/geodetic ) Please share this information within your group, if that is of interest, and apologize in advance for any cross posting. Please get in touch for any further question or additional requests you might have and apologize for any inconvenience this might cause on your systems.
