From nicholas.g.stamatakos.civ at mail.mil Tue Oct 22 10:20:23 2019 From: nicholas.g.stamatakos.civ at mail.mil (Stamatakos, Nicholas G CIV USN NAVOBSY DC (USA)) Date: Tue, 22 Oct 2019 17:20:23 +0000 Subject: [IGSMAIL-7841] Notice of Pending Shutdown of Earth Orientation Parameters (EOP) Websites Message-ID: Dear Nacho ? The U.S. Naval Observatory's Rapid/Service Prediction web/FTP sites (maia.usno.navy.mil and toshi.nofs.navy.mil) must undergo modernization and will be offline starting sometime Thursday, 24 October 2019. The expected completion of work and return of service is estimated as 30 April 2020. Please visit https://www.usno.navy.mil and submit a Requirements Form to the USNO Public Affairs Official (PAO) if the information you are seeking is not accessible via another means. If the Requirements Form is not available (as of the time of this notice, it has not yet been implemented), please directly contact the PAO Geoff Chester at email address geoff.chester at navy.mil or phone number 202-762-1438. We have been told that the EOP data will be generated at USNO and can be pushed to the following CDDIS site: ftp://cddis.gsfc.nasa.gov/pub/products/iers?????? Currently, the EOP data is uploaded to this site around 18:00 UTC each day.? However, CDDIS has recently indicated they will try to upload the data sooner ? perhaps no later than 17:45 UTC.? However, these details are being worked out currently.? Once we have confirmed the times before 18:00 UTC that CDDIS can move data, we will try to provide an update to you. There is an https archive site also available at CDDIS from which users can also download data.? https provides a more secure means of ensuring integrity of the files. ?The site is located at: https://cddis.nasa.gov/archive/products/iers/ However, before using the https site, one needs to follow the procedure outlined at https://urs.earthdata.nasa.gov/ or contact support-cddis at earthdata.nasa.gov for assistance. As we obtain more information, we will try to update this information.
