"SX5 - Scientific GNSS Service Support Based on Galileo E5 Receivers" is a research & development project devoted to the scientific community. We are investigating the benefits of the Galileo E5 broadband signal for precise single-frequency positioning and ionosphere monitoring. The project is funded by the European Union within the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) under coordination of the University FAF Munich and participation of the AIUB (University Bern), the Royal Observatory of Belgium, UK's Met Office and the Institute of Atmospheric Physics (Prague). The SX5 Workshop will take place on 18 October 2011 in Munich, Germany. Further information can be accessed on-line via this link: http://ifen.bauv.unibw.de/sx5/workshop.html The workshop will give you the opportunity to get an overview of the SX5 idea and the latest news regarding GNSS developments, with a focus on the Galileo and Compass system. Furthermore there will be an introduction and a demonstration of the SGSS Software Suite as well as the presentation of first results containing single-frequency precise positioning and ionosphere monitoring. Additionally you will have the opportunity to visit the Galileo test bed (GATE) in Berchtesgaden as an optional social event. Note that this workshop is free of charge (except for the voluntary GATE visit). Feel free to visit our website for additional information: http://www.unibw.de/nav/sx5 Kind regards, The SX5 Team
