From jim.ray at noaa.gov Wed Mar 16 04:18:06 2011 From: jim.ray at noaa.gov (Jim.Ray) Date: Wed, 16 Mar 2011 07:18:06 -0400 Subject: [IGSMAIL-6366] small earthquake displacement at CONZ Message-ID: <4D809C6E.90607@noaa.gov> FYI, the CONZ station operators have confirmed that an observed position shift there on about 2011-02-12 of about -16 mm in N and about +14 mm in E was most likely caused by a M6.9 earthquake at 17:00 local time located about 50 km from Concepcion, Chile. Any height change was no more than a few mm. This displacement is of course in addition to any longer-term post-seismic motions due to last year's major earthquake. Uwe Hessels notes that "If somebody wants to have a more detailed look on it, the 1sec data are available on the BKG IGS server in Frankfurt (igs/highrate-permanent)." --Jim Ray
