Burger Subject: PAMATAI STATION Dear colleague, As you know, the Pamatai GPS station has never been very good in terms of quality (strong multipath). So for this reason, the CNES has decided to move it toward to a new site located at Punaauia (Tahiti). The GPS station will be set up in the facilities of the UFP (Universite Francaise du Pacifique). The UFP site provides also a DORIS and PRARE reference point and by the end of this year a laser station (SLR) will be set up. The Pamatai GPS station will be stopped permanently on March 31 at 23:59 U.T and all equipments will be moved on the other site. The new GPS site should be operational by the end of week #14. The ident name of the new station will be : TAHI ( like Tahiti ). A new site log will be sent to the IGS Central bureau.
